Facebook har lanserat nya regler som tillåter hot och våldsuppvigling om de riktas mot ”farliga” individer eller organisationer, eller mot någon som anklagas, men inte dömts, för ett brott. Facebook har nu uppdaterat sina gemenskapsregler och lagt till några undantag till sin ”inga dödshot”-policy. Uppvigling till dödligt våld är nu tillåtet om det riktas mot individer eller organisationer som av Facebook räknas som ”farliga”.

Statements of intent to commit high-severity violence Calls for high-severity violence (unless the target is an organisation or individual covered in the Dangerous Individuals and Organisations Policy)

Statements advocating for high-severity violence (unless the target is an organisation or individual covered in the Dangerous Individuals and Organisations Policy)

Aspirational or conditional statements to commit high-severity violence (unless the target is an organisation or individual covered in the Dangerous Individuals and Organisations Policy)

Calls for mid-severity violence (unless the target is a member of a dangerous organisation) including content where no target is specified but a symbol represents the target

Aspirational or conditional statements to commit violence (unless the target is an adult public figure convicted or accused of certain crimes or is a member of a dangerous organisation)

Förändringarna uppmärksammades av den politiska kommentatorn Paul Joseph Watson som, tillsammans med sin före detta chef Alex Jones på Infowars, var en av de personer som i maj i år stängdes av från Facebook eftersom de påstås vara ”farliga individer”. Tidningen Fria Tider har under torsdagen valt att polisanmäla Facebook för att de avsiktligt bryter mot skyldigheten att radera olaga hot och uppvigling enligt 5 § lagen om elektroniska anslagstavlor (BBS-lagen).
